Brief Description
Cannabis Sativa is a green or grey mixture of dried, shredded buds and leaves of the hemp plant. The main active chemical is THC (Delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol). New research show there is more than 460 chemicals in marijuana and is the most commonly used illegal drug in Australia.
How can you tell if someone is using Marijuana?
Parents, friends, and teachers should
be aware of the following signs of Marijuana use:
- Increased appetite (Eating a lot of junk food)
- Dizzy and have trouble walking
- Being silly and giggly for no reason
- Very red, bloodshot eyes
- Seeming Confused
- Mood Swings
- High anxiety & paranoia
- Racing heartbeat
- Small plastic bags or foil (Lying around)
- Strange looking items (Bongs, Pipes, Joints)
How is Marijuana used?
Some users roll marijuana into a cigarette called a "joint". Others use it in a water pipe, called a "bong", it also can be heated between two hot steel objects called "Spotting" and mixed into food such as cakes and biscuits.
